I freakin love this harness. Although I’m very much ready to try a new seat...
That said I wish Schroth offered this one with the quick-fit connections where shoulder and lap belt are each tied into the same buckle. Based on their site, that style is only available if I was to ditch the ASM FE shoulder straps which *allegedly* offer a high level of safety on streets with no helmet. When I order my passenger harness I’ll ask them if I can get the quick fit buckles and ASM FE straps, maybe they’d do a custom order.
Also I’ve been driving the 850 in shooting brake mode because I can.
That “winter, economy, sport” switch does absolutely nothing. It’s for the automatic transmission. In fact, it actually gets in the way and pops out a few millimeters when I shift into reverse. Buuuuuut I hate button blanks so I took this off a junkyard car with the hopes of wiring it up to something cool in the future. A little bit of trimming will make sure that it clears the shifter linkages regardless of gear.

The quick fit harnesses all use the ASM cartridge system which does a similar thing to the ASM FE folds in your belts.

Hmm. Did a bit of reading and it seems like the quick fit harnesses are designed for stock seating, and to be integrated into an existing safety system with the lap belt buckling directly into the stock seat belt receptacle. That wouldn’t work too well for the Miata....
I just want those buckles to speed up the harnessing in process slightly haha

Im still wondering about this for my NB. I have to do the rear away bar so I'm out of stock autocross class and a seat is on the table. If I do a seat, I can do a roll bar, since I sit way too high in the stick seats for one. I would be better off lower in the car regardless. But I don't want a harness of around town driving.

V70 gets no love.

I still need to fix it. Trying to juggle a million things and the V70 keeps getting the short end of the stick. Hopefully the 850 sells soon so I can focus on the c omfier Volvo for awhile!

Idk how you deal with a harness every day lol. I set mine up so that I can use both the harness and 3 point on demand. I agree though, I love that specific harness. What seat are you looking to try next?

I felt pretty unsafe with the standard seat belt once I moved to a fixed back bucket seat and pulled the airbags. At this point I don’t even really think about it, takes maybe 5 seconds to buckle in? But I make sure to position the lap belts in a specific way when I exit the car, and when I get in the seat I do it in a very specific way as well.
Good question. My only requirements are that is is red lol. And no more expensive than the Brides, preferably a lot less. Sparco sprint 5's are at the top of my list right now

Have you seen the Marrad LX2?
https://www.marradind.com/proddetail.asp?prod=LX2
I tried an LX1, but found it too small for my large frame. What I really like about the Marrad design is the goal to get you low in the car and still retain slider adjustment (so others can drive).
I’m worried the LX2 will still be too small, but it sure looks nice.
